Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween! We try to carve jack-o'-lanterns every year. This year, our two oldest children pretty much did their own. It’s a fun tradition, although a little messy. Taking pictures of them is somewhat hard, but a tripod, a long exposure, and some backlighting kind of help things out.

Mostar’s Old Bridge
Mostar’s old town, dominated by the famous Old Bridge, rebuilt after the war here in the 1990s. We were lucky that our first visit to the town happened on a beautiful summer day like this, and we got to see people jump from the bridge and enjoyed lunch and some ice cream right down by the water.

Fall Leaves on Fire
I had to stop the car and take a picture when I saw the most incredible tree aflame in brilliant reds, oranges, and yellows of autumn. This was a close-up view of some of those leaves, and although it’s an old picture of mine, it’s one of my personal favorites.

Bryggen in Bergen
Bryggen, the iconic old wharf of Norway’s town of Bergen as dusk comes to a close around 1:00 a.m., only a few minutes before the early light of sunrise will again light the area that was once Norway’s gateway to trade with the mainland of the European continent.
