Surprise Glacier

Icebergs of various sizes float in the calm waters of the Harriman Fjord’s Surprise Inlet.  Surprise Glacier fills the shoreline with its crags, fissures, and colors.

Ice, Mountains, and Pristine Wilderness

 

Exit Glacier, a glacier derived from the Harding Icefield in the Kenai Mountains of Alaska.  It’s one of the few glaciers in Alaska that one can essentially drive right up to.

 

Ледник Экзит — ледник, который является частью ледяного поля Хардинг в горах Кенай на Аляске.  На Аляске существует всего несколько ледников, к которым человек может в принципе ехать.  Этот ледник и есть один из них.

The most colorful part of the architectural ensemble at the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery in Zvenigorod, Russia.  We saw a similar picture in a calendar and knew we had to see it in person.
